Athletes are given points, depending on their placements, in order to qualify for the Junior Grand Prix Final.

Skaters are given points as follows:
Singles, Pairs & Ice Dance
1st place – 15 points
2nd place – 13 points
3rd place – 11 points
4th place – 9 points
5th place – 7 points
6th place – 5 points
7th place – 4 points
8th place – 3 points
Singles
9th place – 2 points
10th place – 1 point

After all 7 events, the skaters that have earned the highest amount of points, go on to compete in the Junior Grand Prix Final, and these skaters are highlighted in bold.

FRANCESCA RIGHI on her partnership with Aleksei, new training circumstances, and what her perfect day would look like

Francesca Righi is the Italian Junior National Champion in Ice Dance, with partner Aleksei Dubrovin. This past season the pair qualified for their first World Junior Championships, where they placed 13th.

We caught up with Francesca just before she and Aleksei begun their final Junior season. She tells us a little more about their partnership, new training circumstances, and talks about her love of languages and travelling.
